Just a small selection to start with but with our vast coastline and incredibly clean rivers we have an abundance of fish in Wales, from lobster to fresh sewin. Why not test the difference for yourself by trying a freshly smoked sewin slice that has been line caught from a coracle to one that you have bought elsewhere?
Only a couple of examples to start with but as with all our selections only the best will do, the Sewin smoked by Scot is as good as it gets, it may be a bit more expensive than supermarket smoked salmon but well worth it. Why not buy the smallest pack of smoked salmon you can find in a supermarket and do a taste test over a bottle of wine, I guarantee you will be converted.
Contrary to what the name implies, Laverbread is not bread. It is the name given to the Welsh technique of preparing a purple seaweed called Porphyra. Considered by many to be a delicacy, in the UK it is found around the coasts of Wales. There are other things that we find in the sea, around our amazing coastline like Cockles from the South, so explore and enjoy. We sometimes have Laverbread for breakfast, this is an acquired taste but very good!
