Like the other Celtic nations, Wales has a long history of spirit distillation. It may even have started as far back as the 4th century AD, when a man known as Reaullt Hir was allegedly distilling on Bardsey Island off the north Wales coast. Although Wales may not have the variety that Scotland has, we are still proud of what we have to offer in terms of Welsh Whisky, Welsh Gin, Welsh Vodka and of course the odd liqueur.
